The Bocas del Toro region of Panama is changing. Under the sea’s surface, marine biologists race to understand new factors impacting the coral reef and declining fish population, including climate change. Above the surface, residents balance the need to care for the ocean and to provide for their families. These environmental, social and economic changes are fluid, permeable and constant. They are the undercurrents of Bocas del Toro.
